Visiting One Way

If you are looking for a safe, fun, and purposeful place for your children to worship and grow in their relationships with God, One Way Kids is the place for you (or, rather, your kids)!  One Way Children’s Ministry is our ministry environment designed for kids in first through fifth grades.

Service Times
One Way Kids is open and available during all regularly scheduled services at First Assembly of God.

Child Check-In
We open 15 minutes before the first service. Both pre-school and elementary-aged children are checked in at our children’s ministries registration desk, located in the lobby of our children’s ministries building. For the safety of you children, they will not be permitted to check-in earlier than 15 minutes prior to the first service of the day.

First-time guests will proceed to the Guest Check-In desk, located in the lobby of the children’s ministry building (Download a map of our facilities), and will be asked to complete a guest registration card. Upon check-in, both parents and their children will receive sticker tags with matching alpha-numeric codes. These tags serve two purposes:

  • Parent paging – If a child has a medical or behavioral issue, their security number will be displayed in the Worship Center. This alerts parents that their assistance is needed, and that they should report to the Children’s Ministries building immediately.
  • Security – Parents must present their portion of the security tag when picking up their child. Children will not be released to any adult without matching security tags.

Regular guests of First Assembly will be able to expedite their weekly check-in process by printing their security tags at one of our self check-in kiosks.

Want to be ahead of the game?
If you plan on visiting us for the first time, feel free to download and complete our registration card before your visit. Bring it with you when you attend to help you save some time before service.

What to expect at One Way Kids
Here is a snapshot of what kids experience in a typical One Way service:

  • Pre-Service Freeplay - Our pre-service freeplay time allows kids and leaders to connect through games and other fun activities. Kids are giving freeplay time until 10 minutes after the service start time.
  • Large Group - This is the opening portion of our One Way Kids services, where kids and leaders gather to worship and learn. We encourage kids to dance, laugh, and engage with God in ways that make sense to them. Large group is where we introduce our key point, bringing it to life through video, drama, and creative storytelling. All first through fifth graders are together during our large group time. This fall, One Way Kids are studying the CORE Truths of our faith and learning how they apply to our everyday lives as we follow Jesus as our leader and example.
  • Small Groups - This is where kids connect with new friends and great leaders as they engage in Bible study. Kids are assigned to small groups according to their grade and gender. All of our children’s small group leaders have been carefully trained and background checked, and they serve at the same service each weekend.

Children With Special Needs
We welcome all children with special needs at One Way Kids. In order to effectively minister to your child and make sure they have a great time in One Way, please inform our registration staff of how we can best serve your child during their visit with us.
